Almost fluid, memories are collaged with many layers of senses and thoughts. A memory has been in my head since my first visit to Notre Dame Cathedrals of Paris and Chartres many years ago. This character remains unchanged as first witnessed (and photographed): in prayer or meditation; clothed in a cloak of many colours; oblivious to the throngs of people and gargoyles surrounding him.
